Anthony Tahlier
"Still life, hot."
Anthony Tahlier (b. 1979, Peoria) has shot commercial still-life and food out of Chicago since 2008. His work pairs product precision with kitchen heat — the 1/8000 flash of a whiskey cube hitting glass, the four-second exposure of a sauce reducing, the half-second of chef motion above a plate. He builds each frame like a recipe: single source, known ingredients, patience with the moment the image wants to become.
Tahlier shot the Alinea cookbook (3rd edition, 2024), the High West Campion Rye campaign (with GS&P Nashville, 2025), and Intelligentsia’s Yirgacheffe origin coverage for Cereal (2024). Selected clients include Alinea Group, High West Distillery, Intelligentsia Coffee, Hennessy, Big Green Egg, Bon Appétit, and Eater. He works in medium format with Broncolor packs for flash, Aputure continuous for motion, and a single Profoto B10 on-location when a kitchen can’t accommodate a pack.
Based in West Loop. Does not shoot live. Accepts one campaign at a time. Available through Touriffic for commercial stills since 2024.
